Career Objectives

A position as a web developer and/or web user interface designer.

Experience

2008Lemonade.com

Lead Front-end Web Developer

As an independent contractor I developed a richly interactive AJAX interface for the redesign of Lemonade.com. Technically this included writing XHTML and CSS to create multi-browser compliant markup. I used the Dojo toolkit to create the AJAX components. I also worked on aspects of the server-side business logic which used the Zend Framework. I worked with team members across the country to ensure communication was clear and promises were delivered.

2008Fluid Yoga

Web Designer

I redesigned and implemented the company website and email campaign templates for a local San Francisco company. I reorganized the information architecture into clearer sections and created a look that better reflected the client's brand message. I wrote the website in HTML and CSS with assets I created in Photoshop. I also enabled the owner to maintain and make updates to the site independently.

2005-2008 Prosodie Interactive

Lead Front-end Web Developer

I developed the front-end for three ecommerce web applications with interactive AJAX search features. This included writing markup and style (HTML and CSS) with a template language (FreeMarker) as well as client-side and server-side scripting (JavaScript and JSP/Beanshell). I gave international training workshops for clients on our content management system. I created prototype designs and wire-frames for the demo site for sales pitches. By being a key player in a small team I gained extensive exposure to Java development in Eclipse, writing SQL, using CVS, SVN, and build release management.

2004-2005ISS EarthKAM

Web Designer/Student Intern

I created prototype designs in html as well as xml with xslt. I reviewed and reorganized old content and added new educational content. I worked with satellite toolkit (STK/VO) to propagate orbital paths.

2005Professor Brett Stalbaum, Dept of Vis Arts, UCSD

Paid Research Assistant

I developed software for a Java API to solve problems with mapping of the curvature of the earth with digital elevation model (DEM) data. The data were stored in MySQL database and file format. I also created JSP web interfaces with which to visualize DEM data.
